 South rocks never

 South rocks never fails.

Drive to the island then drive east.  You will get to where the coast line then does a dog leg south. That's south rocks. Fish the southern side.

alternatively, drive north about 5km until you get to an island/rock which is about 300 out to sea. Very reefy tailor like it there, some gutters if you look carefully.

are you camping o/n? Careful rangers are hot there now.

good luck

Thanks for the info - will

Thanks for the info - will also be heading up that way tomorrow to fish overnight. We will be in a white bravo ute and a silver ford ranger so come say gday. Does anyone know what condition the beach is and how the weed situation is? I've just been there twice and the beach was rock hard both times... not sure if it changes much or not! Curious about the weed because last night I was fishing metro and the weed made it basically unfishable.

Are the rangers alright with overnighters just involving swags etc?

Hey Michael I did alright

Hey Michael I did alright with some small whiting and decent herring, several dart, nice flathead and a big skippy. Managed a few reasonable tailor just after sunset and probably could have caught more if we weren't farting around so much. There were lots of small runs later at night with one massive one on a whole herring, but didn't manage to hook up. Last of all picked up a nice wobbegong just before bed. The beach was pretty clear but seemed to get a bit weedy on the following day, so we were pretty lucky.

Yep..I think I know the spot.

Yep..I think I know the spot. The coast line narrows there as well. Just about where target rock is.

There is also some good deep gutters more or less in front of the bombing range. Seen the locals drive back with big mullas from there in the past.
