Everyone has their theories....

My best advice is to get out there and see what happens. Keep a fishing diary - time fish were on/off the bite, species, weather conditions, tide, swell, water clarity, solunar state....do this for long enough and you'll eventually get a pattern.

I have my theories about Mulloway, and it is closely linked to moon phase but there are also other factors. Conditions are also important for tailor I find.

Scour these forums and you'll pick up a few clues - plenty of talk about full moon v new moon fishing and also what are the right conditions to catch the tailor on the bite.

The truth is though, sometimes you just gotta be in the right place and the right time....plenty of fluke catches happening all the time. :-)

Good luck.
