Great part of the world

Hey Buz, did a similar trip but in reverse back in the late 90's, didn’t do much fishing (just a bit on a dive charter out of Belize) but there sure are plenty of fishy looking places along the way. Belize will definitely have opportunities. Form memory you dive as well, did some great dives in Belize out to the blue hole (caught my only ever dolphin fish out there). The other place I found very inviting was off the coast of Honduras on an island called Rotan (think that’s the spelling). The diving here was spectacular and the fish amazing, at back then it was cheap. I’m sure there would be plenty of opportunities for fishing here. I didn’t have any gear with me but remember thinking on a number of occasions “boy that looks fishy”
Anyway I am sure you will have an amazing time over there.
Travel safe Brad

Cheers, Brad. Yep definitely dive and yep already got a few Dive Locations sussed that I want to visit, with the Blue Hole being one of them. Unfortunately I don't think I will make it to Honduras with us having to make a date I Ecuador for an organised tour I think it will be too rushed, shame that Rotan sounds awesome on its reviews.
But yes bit of a last minute decision to bring some fishing gear as I thought, how many times I have been overseas before and seen really fishy looking water only to have no way of having a flick.
Well even if I catch nothing and even if I only get to have a few flicking sessions, i'll be happy knowing that I did at least have the opportunities this time :)

Or maybe I might just get spooled by a Tarpon or something hahahahaha

Nah got the mini pliers/split ring pliers, plus some small spools of leader line, mini scissors, small swivels, etc. Just thought they made the pic look to cluttered :)

Will probably throw in a little wire trace as well for some Piranha fishing.

Pack a bar of soap in your tackle kit.  When you run out of insect repellant rub some soap on the spots you have been bitten.
