New Boat Build - Genesis 730xl transducer time ..

G'day everyone,

I dont normally write too much on here but I will give it a crack. After much procrastinating and a lot of indecision I have recently ordered a custom boat to be built by GenesisCraft and am hoping to document the build on here for all to enjoy.

After initial consultation with numerous boat builders I felt immediately comfortable dealing with Matt at Genesis, nothing has been a drama or too much of a hassell. He was only too happy to get a quote out to me late on christmas eve and even said to call over the chrissy break if needed. Fast forward six months and this great customer service has not waivered at all. Another selling point to me was the quality of work which was second to none - I could not fault a thing (myself being a welder trust me I looked hard).

Boat overview:

730xl Hard top with custom ally Genesis trailer

250 Yamaha - will be fitted further down the track

sounders - two 12 in  simrads  ..transducers

Anyway pics of work to date and will post updates as I get them. Cheers

Sounds like a good combo, I

Sounds like a good combo, I really hope for you that you do not suffer witrh the airation at speed problems that I and others have with those flush type transducers. I would seriously be considering the high performance fairing type units for a boat that large. They have the advantage of slicing the airation around the transducers and also you get more bang for you buck because you can choose two chirp channels in the single transducer...

Great setup though with the Simrads and 5100....

There is a lad on here selling a 5100 near new right now if you want to save a few bucks...

transducer is a tilted element B175H thru hull, he reckons picture is perfect at speed.
