Monster Cape Kingies
Made a last minute decision today to head out for a fish. Bit of an uncomfortable trip out with southerly winds and a huge swell running. Fingers crossed the forcast was going to be right and the wind would drop. Lucky for us it did.
The plan today was to jig a few kingies that turn up at this time of the year. First drift and it was on, a small one for me and Dave from Dunsborough Outdoor Sportz pulled in one of the fattest YTK I have seen from the Cape Nat area.
Dave got a bit excited and tried to spoon it. Talk about someone who loves their fishing.
\
Managed to jig up a few more YTK, sambos and one amberjack in the next few drifts. The photo below shows the average size of the the kingies.
My biggest for the day which was 5cm longer than Daves but was nowhere near the same weight.
Another cracking session on the kingies down south. Think I will be a bit sore tomorrow.

Didn't really look for any
Didn't really look for any tuna Brad. Pretty much headed for home after a couple of hours of playing around with the kingies. Glad we did too because the wind picked up just as we got in. It would of been nasty out there with the 3-4m swell running. Did see a couple of small bust ups on the way home though.
Dave got the seriola grand slam. Pretty unusual to find all three at the one spot.
Hornet they aren't too bad to eat. Heaps better than sambos. We kept a couple of the smaller ones. The rest all went back strong after a few minutes on the deck wash.

Your a good sport Davo &
Your a good sport Davo & killing the kings of late. I consider it a POTM contender
Luckily this has been my last week of spending days off in Perth, with Thursday & Friday off I am hoping the weather may improve to head out for some pain. Will pop in & see if Damo or Girly Sue want to head out to steal your thunder, could be a spot going if any Kingy fans are down this way.
