Lowrance from the US

FW Crew,

Looking at replacing my old sounder with a new one. As the Dingi is getting a little older I`m thinking something below the $500 mark. On Cabelas site you can get the Elite-5X DSI for $349 at the moment ( USD ) on sale... I havent looked into them freighting to Aus yet but if they can`t I thought you guys might recommend a mob that do??

If someone can suggest a better unit for bouncing baits in a Dingi then let me know, as well as any info to help me get one sent.

With the AUD so strong at the moment it seems the best way to go??

Cheers,

Timboon

If you plan on starting to

If you plan on starting to buy a few things out of the states it might be worthwhile setting up a virtual mailbox over there. I have one for when a supplier won't send to Aus. They simply send it to my US address and once it's arrived they send me quotes to send the goods to me along with photo's etc of the products. Generally TNT and Fedex are the cheapest options.

Cabelas have an Aussie option so i would of thought they are capable of sending it here.

They lock the GPS to imperial, so I guess the sounders are locked in feet.

Geofencing means the units

Thu, 2013-01-03 17:22

Geofencing means the units are designed /not to do that/.

Shop around Local

Thu, 2013-01-03 17:11

I looked around a little while ago and found you can get marginally better deals out of the US. If you play the game and get quotes from the stores in the city you live in you will find there prices aren't much different. You will then have the added back up of your warranty being seen to more readily/easily should something go balls up. As I said there are lots of good guys in the states that will help but research all avenues.
