land based fishing Geraldton
Submitted by Sixapeal on Fri, 2013-01-25 16:31
Hey guys I'm going fishing over the weekend in Geraldton. I've just had
A knee recon so I'm in a leg brace and can't bend the leg.. Does
anyone know of any decent places to head to. obviously I don't
want your secret locations just a decent spot to chase some land based
fish. Won't be any good off a beach so thinking a decent jetty or wharf etc.
thanks :)

well now...
no jetties ....that was pulled down umteen years ago.....
wharf....nup...not allowed there incase you are a bad guy who want to blow a ship up ....
and that doesnt leave you any place easy with your gammy knee.
Rocks ? there is the breakwater ????
Maybe some one else fro Gero can throw a bit of info your way but I am at a loss.
Why not just kick back with a coldie and enjoy the Australia Day long weekend.

theres a couple of platforms
theres a couple of platforms in the marinas you could fish off, also a small rockwall i visisted ages ago with a platform similar to the one on the north mole, im not sure where is it though. Best bet would be to try inside a marina.
Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.

Greenough
If you have 4wd you can go through greenough to the rocks (2 different sets) easy to get to, easy to fish. 2nd set of rocks along will be fine - the ground is nice n flat.

Robbie?
Robbie?
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Drive down past the fishing
Drive down past the fishing boats to the area where the live cray factory is.
You can cast with the breeze, lots of fish up to mullaway caught there.

Greenough
You don't need a 4WD to get across to the rocks at Greenough at the mo. sand is nice and hard. Plenty of tailor there on sunset and in the mornings.

just go to the fishing boat
just go to the fishing boat harbour, carry on past all the boat pens and there is a huge gravel/reclaimed area with hundreds of container/bins stacked up, just drive past and you'll find it, there'll be plenty others there maybe.
