Keep Australia Fishing Rally and Convoy details
I hope to see many of you tomorrow at the rally.
Even if you can't bring a boat, bring yourself, bring friends, bring family members, the numbers really count.
Details:
2.00-2.30: For the convoy, gather at Leeuwin Boat Ramp, Hillarys Boat Ramp and Bluewater Morley. Reps from Benbows will coordinate the Hillarys convoy, and reps from Bluewater Melville will run the Leeuwin one. From there you head into Langley Park along a prearranged route. For more details speak to the coordinators at each location when you arrive. Convoys will start at 2.30pm. Banners and signs promoting a positive fishing message or key messages such as "don't lock us out" are encouraged.
3.30-4pm: Arrive at Langley Park. Parking marshals will control parking on the park itself, follow their instructions. Bring cars, boats, dinghies, kayaks, jet skis, whatever.
4pm: Barbecue/sausage sizzle run by Getaway Outdoors begins.
4.15pm: Keep Australia Fishing Rally begins. Scott Coghlan will MC the event and introduce guest speaker Rex Hunt. Rex will be followed by Recfishwest CEO Andrew Rowland, Emma George and Jamie Chester.
(PLEASE NOTE: We need people to be on their best behaviour at the rally - no public drinking of alcohol and no tension with members of the public or opponents of the rally, just ignore any negative comments)
Be aware that the media will be covering the event and we want to project an ultra-positive image of the rec fishing community. Feel free to post pics of the rally and comments to Facebook, Twitter, etc.
5.30pm: Rally concludes. Hopefully the right message will have been sent to the Federal Government and general public.

Be a part of this if you can,
Be a part of this if you can, as said before this is the time to voice our concerns with the future of fishing in Australia.
If we sit and do nothing, then they will keep taking and taking till there is nothing left.
If you cant make it due to commitments, thats cool.
If your not going because you dont feel like it, or the traffic will be bad on the way home, then dont complain when you cant wet a line or you cant take your kid or grand kids fishing. Not having a go at people, just want people to understand that we all need to stand up and be counted, our voice must be heard, hope to see you all tomorrow!
More drum lines, kill the bloody sharks!

Its time
Sorry for the political pun, but pollys look at 1 thing ,VOTES, thats it
I dont think they really care for your rights , your views , your passions etc
If they see a big turnout, bums on seats type stuff, they will react.
Dont give up heart people, public opinion has and will change things for the better.
Totally agree with all coments on behavior tomorrow, this is too important for us, too much
apart of who we are , how we get through life, and what we want to leave for our kids, to stuff it up
for the sake of a few beers or some smelly greeny .
Hey Im as passionate about this as any one, but am smart enough to now how to behave.
See it as a group get together , a fun family thing , with a message , not as a way to vent your anger.
thats what friday night in northbridge is for , haha relax , just kidding . im a lover not a fighter
fish lover that is.
see you all there, white gq patrol , towing a red quad.

Hi All,Information for the
Hi All,
Information for the KEEP AUSTRALIA FISHING CONVOY AND RALLY:
Recfishwest has just today been notified that ONLY vehicles towing boats, as part of the convoy will be allowed to park on the grounds of Langley Park. For all other vehicles coming to the rally, we recommend using street parking on Terrace Road, Plain St car park, or Wilson car parking under the Hilton Centre (entry off Terrace Road, max vehicle height 2m).
Apologies for this late notice.

This would have to be a City
This would have to be a City of Perth directive " Wankers". Anything for them to make a parking buck. That park is friggin huge and would be able to accomodate heaps of cars. They won't sting me as I'm getting the bus. Arseholes to you City of Perth you turds in control obviously don't FISH.

Happy to disagree
Um , your entitled to your opinion SARC , fair enough, but what or more to the point whom do you think we
are we protesting against?
Its about political leaders playing the game, and taking the side of the the squeaky wheel , to meet their own ends,
without proper consultation with the people most effected , and in the greatest majority. as well as
riding rough shod over considered science and research presented on the subject.
If thats not taking notice of others opinions , what is?
I read a while back angling is the largest partisapant sport or pastime in the country, so you would think
as the greastest stakeholders our imput would be vital.
yeah I spoken to mps before , a couple of times at my own door, and have wrote various letters
to them , seeking answers or support. With the level of interest I recieved , my original comments stand.
Not saying any more , Im saving my fight for them, and for my kids to enjoy the great aussie outdoors.

Guys,
I would hate to see a situation where people aren't prepared to fight for there fising rights because of parking issues!!
If you are worried about parking, go to one of the rally points and hitch a ride with someone towing a boat. No one is going to knock you back :)
What kind of message are we sending to the government if were not prepared to fight because we cant park where we wanted to?

Sounds like there'll be plenty of parking anyway around Langley Park.
It shouldn't be an issue.

Sorry guys, im in Sydney
I emailed the Keep Australia Fishing people to see if anything was happening here, but I havent received a response. I emailed it through to my local member of parliament with some accompanying information about the shenanigans behind it all and I got an email that he will be attending this afternoon with a staffer to take photos.
So, im going fishing this afternoon:D

Great success
Had a huge turnout, ours started from Hillarys boat harbour,
Except for a minor stuff up as to where the volunteer leader took us from Hillarys, we did make it eventually to Langley Park.
Great hot dogs from Great Outdoors and a huge reception for the retired king of Fish, Rex Hunt,
I hope the Pollies were taking notice, probably not.

Very well
Thanks Fisho-ron,
It handles excellently in all conditions. However, we never had it out before the modifications so really can't give a before and after comparison. I must admit though, it is better in an oncoming sea rather than a following one. Economically, she did Rottnest to 1/2km shy of Hillarys on 17lts which I thought was pretty good.
