Jurien weather this weekend
Decided to head away somewhere this weekend with the missus and figured it might be a good opportunity to sample the fishing up at Jurien in my recently completed project boat. However, I'm still a bit green when it comes to sea fishing/boating and just looking for some opinions on what the weather and seas will be like up there on Sat/Sunday.
I've checked out seabreeze - Lancelin showing just under 2m swell and E/SE winds around 10knts. Is JB likely to be about the same? ANd what sort of seas would this make for up there? I'm not going to be heading out far (haven't got the fuel capacity yet), so prob just looking at hanging around in the bay area and maybe out the back of some of the close-in reef just north of the islands and target some snapper, whiting squid etc.
SOrry for the 'hand-holding' type question....just that it is a long way to drag the boat (and missus) to have a s**t day out or not get out at all.

It's not looking to bad ATM
It's not looking to bad ATM I'm spewing I'm at for the next to weeks. If u decide to go to jurien and go out it might pay to give the sea rescue a call and log on and off with them. Not trying to put u off but the seas out of jurien can b dangerous if u don't have ur wits about u. You will find some nice ground out the back off the main reef if u venture out that way with a good chance of a nice fish or two. If u have a chart plotter keep ur eye on that and it should show u the shallow reefs around and what to watch out for.
Go big or go home..

weather looking ok as Shark
weather looking ok as Shark 88 has said, but i saying that i went up there a couple of wks back, predicted 1.4 mtre swell and 10 - 15 knot easterlys, Turned scary very quick.
just be careful aound the 10km mark, anything past that could become very ugly, keep an eye on the conditions, the easterlys get stronger the further you go out.
we did better just drifting past couple of spots in close - alot of good ground, just use the sounder to pick some spots
give jigging a go aswell - that worked best for us.

weather will be good / fairly
weather will be good / fairly good this weekend in JB with Sunday looking pretty good. Saturday looks a little stronger in the wind departments, but an earterly at least allows you to fish inshore if its too strong to head wide.

Tip for Jurien Weather
Tip for Jurien Weather forcast!!!
Look at Gero forcast as this is more likely to reflect conditions at jurien
also if they forcasting SE 10 -15 on a 2+ meter swell that = shit outside the reef.
Cheers Boomer.

Big bait,
