I have no idea where to really GO

I'm as green as can be.

Can any one help with some co-ordinates for a spot off Bunbury.. (australind estuary depart) where I might get lucky with a nice fish

any genuine advice or spot would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Get to know the boat Harry, work out the electrics, trim, ride etc. Nice conditions tomorrow down this way so have a look for some sand patches to drift for whiting etc.

You're probably going to be hard pressed for people to give up marks & if you do then they are likely to be hammered ground. Once you have the above sorted then your own gps marks will start to build (no doubt with some pointers off here)

I did go out ot Koombana today with the wife & kids to start to build up expierence

had fun wuth the dolphins

played with the trim when motoring and sort of got an idea now.. obvious expierence over time will help no end

I did only get 26 knts @ 7200 out of the 70 yammy - does thast sound about right??

The Navman had me beat.

got the sounder up..  saw the bottom but that was it

didnt get any understanding of how to plot waypoints and other stuff.. (i don;t realy know what stuff yet)

I think i will be up all night reading the manual

 Harry,

If you are looking to get a headstart on working your sounder, spend some time on Youtube, there are some great sounder vids on there that are really very helpfull.

Cheers

Hey Harry, wont give you any marks ,cos ive worked to hard in getting them myself. But if you drift around out at the anchorage (where they park all the big ships) you often pick up pinkies ,kg and the odd smaller Dhu. Its not far to go and there is enough out there to keep you interested. put a floater out the back fish a Dhu rig and another for the bigger whiting 1 or 2 l/shank.

Follow Willlo's advice then explore further afield with your sounder. Have you got your skippers ticket?

I changed out my black and

I changed out my black and white sounder for a coloured Lowerance Elite 5. The sounder has a "Simulate" function and when I turn it on to simulate, it does as the name implies and simulates a bottom with fish arches. With my sounder in simulate, I can change the sensitivity and colour line settings to see what each change does to the bottom and the simulated fish arches. Now I just do small changes when I'm out on the water. As far as logging spots, you should be able to just hit the enter button twice but not sure with the navman.
