Fishing Dampier lately

Is it me loosing the Mojo, or has it been slow out there lately.

Went out Friday evening/night for one nice spangly, a forktail catfish (Man I rate them as  true fighting beasts) and a blue bastard (dusky sweetlip). Saturday had to baby sit a visiting eye specialist and show him the scenes. Got a fish in and I scored a magnificent bluebone, everyone else Nada.

Stayed on a shack so out early after the mini hangover that just seem to accompany shack stays, and slow as a wet week. Beyond Legendre, trolling, bottom bouncing, squiding (got a few off these) for 2 keepers bewtween 3.5 fishers. I basically re-rigged as the noahs was thick.

Just wondering, because normally where we go you are almost gaurenteed a feed.

Same in Hedland mate. Going

Same in Hedland mate. Going for over a month. No birds, no surface busts.. As I don't have a gps, my plan of attack is always to just head out and look for some signs of pelagics in action, but I have had nothing to go by for quite some time now.

Well, just got back in. Man, did Willyweather have it wrong. Was copping 1m swell in my little 4.5m. But I got like 15 school mackerel arround the 55-60cm mark. Plenty of bird and bait along the southern end of the spoil bank. First time I've found bait balls and birds in 6weeks time. Hopefully it'll mark the start of better days for our areas.
