Who is going where .I guess most of the exy boys will be grounded for a while ,after there trip north. We are heading bush for five days, to do some gold prospecting. Then up to the Abrolhos for the long weekend.Give us a few days to count the Gold nuggets .And maybe find my gopro.
I won"t hold my breath on that.

I have to work
I have to work Paul , But i look forward to the reports and wish every one the best .
I get a bit emotional around ANZAC day , but i know one thing , Fishing, camping and having fun with the family are some of the things my Father and Grandfather fought for .
I usualy spend the day on a nice beach with friends and family but sadly can't do that this year, I'm sure Pop would understand.
Cheers Grant .

Hyden, Esperance & Albany
Tomorrow morning (Saturday) Mrs gates and I are heading to Hyden for 2 nights, then on to Esperance for 9 nights, then over to Albany to catch up with some friends for a couple of nights, then back home again.
We will be landbased fishing along the way as this is a 'no boat' holiday.....apparently it's payback for team gates holidaying in Coral Bay this time last year. (which means next year we can take the boat somewhere....the Kimberleys might be on the cards)
Will be doing the touristy thing along the way and actually quite looking forward to it....don't tell the missus, though.
So I've packed the kayaks, fishing rods, golf clubs, the camera gear and a good book and we'll be on the road by 9am.
Will probably post a report or two during the holiday, especially if there's any noteworthy fishing action.
Had a call from Paul G yesterday telling me about their plans to head over to the Abrolhos next weekend but I couldn't convince the missus to head down south without me
To all those who are heading off during school holidays or over the Anzac Day long weekend, have a safe trip and I look forward to your reports.
regards

Same plan as easter, fish metro while there's less people around then take off somewhere (Walpole) for a few days when they all get back.

Laid up
Going in to Gero hospital on Monday for a shoulder op then back up here Tuesday, know what to expect as had the other one done 18 months back, so will be out of action for a month or so.
Expect to or will try to attend Anzac services with rest of sea rescue members but won't guarantee it.

Down to mandurah anzac day
Down to mandurah anzac day with the family, got a boat mooring at the hotel - really looking forward to spending most of the time out in the water.
Will have to stop in at the pub on the way down to watch the Footy - love the anzac day game. Any reccomendations on best pub to watch the footy?
might head out with the old man on Sat morning to see if we can pick up some bigger fish. Downloaded that navionics app last night - definately worth getting if your a learner like me.
other than that crusing round the river with the girls, trying to catch some Bream, very lucky both of them love fishing - anyone else going down?

Im laying a spikestrip on the road so nobody can get into busso area on thursday and flog the place silly. In all seriousness just checked the forecast and those who want to go wide with the big swell can do so. Maybe I will just stay at home and tie flies whilst dreaming of tailing permit that haunted me on my exmouth trip.
Fish for thrills....
